The second hybrid Ro-Ro vessel in a series ordered by Finnlines was launched in China on Monday, August 30.

One day after Finneco II touched water for the first time, the keel was laid for sister ship Finneco III. Both vessels and sister Finneco I, which will begin undergoing sea trials in September, are being built at Nanjing Jinling Shipyard.

Finneco I will start operational sailings at the end of 2021 while the remaining two sisters will follow in 2022.

Facilities on each vessel will include a gym and sauna area, a dining and recreation room, a laundry area, and single cabins for lorry drivers.

Once completed, all three ships will each have an LOA of 238 metres, a moulded beam of 34 metres, a deadweight of 17,100 tonnes, and 5,800 lane metres for freight.

The Ro-Ros will all have ice class 1A Super notation.
