CIMC Raffles lays keel of world’s largest LNG-powered Ro-Ro ship

China's Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipyard laid the keel for a new freight-only Ro-Ro vessel on Monday, June 22.

The vessel will be the first in a series of two Knud E. Hansen-designed Ro-Ros to be built for Sweden's Wallenius SOL. It will be the world's largest LNG-powered freight-only Ro-Ro upon completion with an LOA of 242 metres and capacity for 5,800 lane metres of cargo.

Delivery is scheduled for August 2021.
