Piriou's Chantiers Piriou shipbuilding division has delivered a new landing craft to Transport Maritime Des Dependances (TMDD), an operator based in the French overseas region of Guadeloupe.

Named Orca, the vessel is the fifth landing craft built by Piriou for TMDD after the 34-metre Caribdesir, the 39-metre near-identical sisters Gwo Ka and Transud, and the 50-metre Caribdesir II.

Orca will join TMDD's fleet of landing craft in providing freight transportation services between Pointe-à-Pitre, Marie-Galante, Les Saintes, La Desirade, and other surrounding islands in Guadeloupe.

The newbuild has an LOA of 49.9 metres, a beam of 11 metres, a crew of four, a speed of 10 knots, and a maximum cargo capacity of 300 tonnes.
