New river-capable car carrier completed in China

A new Chinese-built vehicle carrier will soon commence operational sailings on the Pearl River Delta in the southern province of Guangdong.

Suigang Qiche 01 ("Guangzhou Port Automobile 01") has an LOA of 69.8 metres, a moulded beam of 16 metres, and two decks that can accommodate a total of 220 vehicles.

The newbuild will be operated by Guangzhou Port Holdings Shipping. It will be used to transport newly-built motor vehicles out of the Huadu District, the main production base of the automobile industry in the city of Ghangzhou.
