First Japan-built LNG-fueled PCTC formally named

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) recently christened a new pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) being constructed by Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding.

Upon completion, the 199- by 38-metre Sakura Leader will have capacity for 7,000 vehicles and will be the first LNG-fueled PCTC to be built by a Japanese shipyard.

Delivery is scheduled for October 2020.
