Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has ordered a coal carrier from Oshima Shipbuilding for delivery in 2021.

The ship will have an overall length of 250 metres, breadth of 43 metres and deadweight of 98,500 tonnes.

This ship will be equipped with a diesel engine compliant with MARPOL's Tier III limits that require a reduction in NOx emissions.

NYK have signed a long-term contract to charter the vessel to Kobe Steel for up to 20 years.
