NovaAlgoma Shortsea Carriers takes delivery of new bulker

NovaAlgoma Short Sea Carriers (NASC), a joint venture of Canada's Algoma Central Corporation and Nova Marine Holdings of Luxembourg, has taken delivery of Sider Buffalo, a 6,800DWT bulk carrier built by Ningbo Xinle Shipyard in China.

The vessel is the first of a firm six bulk carriers to be built by Ningbo Xinle for NovaAlgoma. It is expected to begin service in May 2020.

Three additional 6,800DWT and two 8,800DWT vessels will be added to the NovaAlgoma fleet with deliveries scheduled in 2020 and 2021 with the company holding options for a further six plus six additional units.
