Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has taken delivery of a new cargo vessel from Oshima Shipbuilding.

The 209- by 37-metre Vanguardia will be used to transport wood chips under a long-term charter with Japanese manufacturer Daio Paper Corporation.

The newbuild has a total cargo hold capacity of 120,000 cubic metres. Features such as electronic controls for the engine and low-friction paint for the hull bottom are intended to make the vessel more fuel-efficient.
