Japanese shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) recently held a naming ceremony for the second coal carrier in a series built locally by Oshima Shipbuilding.
Hokulink will transport coal from overseas for use at the power plants of Hokuriku Electric Power Company. It will operate alongside sister ship Energy Prometheus in this role.
The newbuild has an LOA of 234.96 metres, a beam of 38 metres, and a deadweight of just under 90,000 tonnes.
