Kawasaki delivers 81,000DWT bulker Navios Magellan II

Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) delivered a new Panamax bulk carrier to Japanese owner Indigo Marine Shipping on Friday, May 15.

The 81,000DWT Navios Magellan II has an LOA of 228.9 metres, a moulded beam of 32.24 metres, a draught of 14.5 metres, and a hold capacity of 97,745 cubic metres. One MAN B&W 6S60ME-C8.5 IMO Tier III-compliant diesel engine delivers a speed of 14.5 knots.

Construction took place at the facilities of Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS), a joint venture of KHI and China COSCO Shipping Corporation, in Nantong, China.

The vessel will sail under a long-term charter with Greece's Navios Maritime Holdings, which has the option to purchase after three to five years.
