Netherlands-based Spliethoff Group has acquired five heavy-lift cargo vessels from Germany's Hansa Heavy Lift (HHL).

HHL Elbe (pictured), HHL Tyne, HHL Amur, HHL Mississippi, and HHL New York will all sail under new names. HHL New York, the largest of the five vessels, will be operated by Spliethoff subsidiary BigLift Shipping.

HHL was compelled to relinquish the vessels after the company filed for bankruptcy in early January.
