German heavy-lift shipping company Combi-Lift has completed its scope of work under a US$3.6 million contract awarded by the Lebanese government for the disposal of containers laden with flammable liquids at the Port of Beirut.

The removal was carried out in the months following an explosion at the port that killed over 200 people and injured thousands more in the Lebanese capital on August 4, 2020.

A total of 59 removed containers have been loaded onto the SAL Heavy Lift cargo vessel Amoenitas and are being transported to Germany for final disposal.
