Canadian shipping company Fednav has taken delivery of a handysize bulk carrier built by Oshima Shipbuilding in Japan.

The 34,500DWT ice class newbuild has been named Federal St Laurent in honour of the Saint Laurent (Saint Lawrence) River, which flows along Fednav's head office in Montreal.

It is the fourth Fednav vessel to bear the name after three vessels that were delivered in 1968, 1978, and 1996.
