‘Federal Iris’ completes maiden voyage

The 'Federal Iris', a 200-metre long bulk carrier, has completed her maiden voyage to the United States, arriving at the Port of Vancouver, USA on August 30.

The 'Iris' is operated by Federal Navigation of Montreal and owned by Forward Gloria Navigation. The vessel, which has a deadweight capacity of 63,498 tonnes, was built by Imabari Shipbuilding and launched August 9.

The 'Iris' will load approximately 6,700 tonnes of copper concentrate at the Port of Vancouver before sailing to Oregon to load soda ash, and British Columbia, Canada, to load wheat.

Her next destinations after the North American West Coast are China and Indonesia.
