American shipowner Eagle Bulk Shipping has purchased the 2015-built ultramax bulk carrier Queen Cuki (pictured) from London-based Lomar Shipping.

The vessel, which was bought for US$20.4 million, has been renamed Cape Town Eagle. It comes with an existing time charter with an unnamed client with one year remaining.

Eagle Bulk has also sold for US$13.2 million the supramax bulkers Condor and Merlin. Both vessels were built in 2001 and were originally scheduled to undergo drydocking.

The transactions bring the company's ultramax and supramax fleets to 14 and 32, respectively.
