China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), through a subsidiary, has delivered two new inland dry cargo vessels equipped with LNG-fueled engines.
The 2,000DWT Zhonghe 2001 (pictured) and the 3,000DWT Dafeng 3001 each have a range of 800 nautical miles and will be operated on China's Pearl River. The newbuilds are the first units to be delivered in fulfilment of a contract for 50 vessels awarded in March of this year.
The vessels are part of the Green Pearl River project, which seeks to introduce greater numbers of low-emission cargo ships on some of China's inland routes.
