Castor Maritime, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into an agreement to acquire a Kamsarmax bulk carrier from an unaffiliated third party for a purchase price of US$21 million.

The vessel was built in 2013 at an unnamed shipyard in Japan. Castor said it expects to take delivery of the vessel by the beginning of the third quarter of 2021.

The company added that the acquisition remains subject to the satisfaction of certain customary closing conditions.
