Cyprus-based Castor Maritime, through a separate wholly owned subsidiary, has entered into agreements to acquire two vessels from separate entities.
Joining the Castor fleet are a 2006-built Aframax LR2 tanker sold by an unaffiliated third party and a 2012-built Panamax dry bulk vessel from a third party in which a family member of Castor's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Financial Officer has a minority interest.
The tanker will be delivered to the company with a time charter contract attached while the bulk carrier will be handed over following the completion of an ongoing drydocking and special survey that also includes the installation of a ballast water treatment system.
