Cargill International has extended the charter contract with Diana Shipping for the Capesize dry bulk vessel, Santa Barbara.
Starting on April 24, the gross charter rate is US$20,250 per day, minus a 4.75 per cent commission paid to third parties, for a period of 18 to 19 months.
She is currently chartered at a gross charter rate of US$12,000 per day, minus a 4.75 per cent commission paid to third parties.
The 2015-built Santa Barbara is a 179,426DWT Capesize dry bulk vessel.
Meanwhile, Cargill International has also signed a time-charter contract for Diana Shipping's Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel, Myrto.
Also beginning on April 24, the gross charter rate is US$14,000 per day, minus a 4.75 per cent commission paid to third parties, for a minimum of 13 months and a maximum of 15 months.
Built in 2013, the 82,131DWT Myrto is currently chartered at a gross charter rate of US$8,000 per day, minus a 4.75 per cent commission paid to third parties.
The extension and new charter are anticipated to generate US$16 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period.
