VT Halter Marine has delivered an LNG-powered combination container roll-on/roll off (Con-Ro) ship to the Crowley Maritime Corporation from its Pascagoula facility in Mississippi.

El Coqui is the first of two Commitment-class Con-Ro ships being built for Crowley's shipping and logistics services between Jacksonville, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The vessel meets US Jones Act requirements, and is able to transport up to 2,400 TEU and a mix of nearly 400 cars and larger vehicles in the enclosed, ventilated and weather-tight Ro-Ro decks.

The ship measures 219.5 metres long, 32.3 metres wide, with a draught of 10 metres and an approximate deadweight capacity of 26,500 tonnes.
