Dubai-based shipping company SeaLead Shipping has launched a new Far East service between Hamburg and China via the Suez Canal.

The route will be initially served by four 2,200TEU Feedermax ships. The first two ships arrived in Hamburg earlier this month while the final two will call in October and November, respectively.

The departure frequency is then to be increased to a total of two monthly arrivals and departures for Hamburg.

The service currently calls at the ports of Ningbo, Shanghai, Nansha, Qingdao, and Busan. It is commercially operated by NVOCC Volta Container Line, with clearing and marketing handled by Germany-based liner agent Peter W. Lampke.
