Greenland-based Royal Arctic Line (RAL) recently held an official naming ceremony for its newest polar-capable reefer vessel.

The 69-metre Maleraq Arctica will be operated on RAL's cargo route between the western Greenland municipalities of Uummannaq and Aasiaat.

The vessel was built by Spain's Zamakona Yards to a design by Havyard Design and Solutions. Like sister vessel Siuana Arctica, which was delivered in December 2020, it is capable of navigation in shallow ports in areas with extreme climates.
