Keppel Offshore and Marine subsidiary Keppel AmFELS held a ceremony for the cutting of steel plates for the containership George III on Tuesday, September 25.
George III is the first of two Ohana-class liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueled containerships being built for Honolulu-based shipping company Pasha Hawaii.
Once built, the new 235-metre US Jones Act vessels will carry 2,525 TEU at a sailing speed of 23 knots.
Delivery of the vessels is expected in 2020.
