CMA CGM has nine containerships under construction at China's CSTC Shipyard.

Each ship will have a capacity of 22,000 TEU.

The France-based BIO-UV Group will supply BIO-SEA ballast water treatment systems for the vessels.

CMA CGM will pay approximately US$1.2 billion for the construction of the nine ships.

The LNG-powered ships are expected for delivery in 2020.
