Ocean Network Express (ONE) has confirmed that one of its containerships was damaged in a collision with a chemical tanker in the vicinity of the Port of Perama, Piraeus, Greece, at around 14:09 local time on Thursday, September 26.

One Blue Jay came into contact with the Turkish-flagged tanker Gunece as the former vessel arrived at Piraeus after having sailed out of Singapore.

The collision left the containership with a hull crack, though ONE has stated that there are no reports of pollution from One Blue Jay and that the entire crew are safe.

A crewmember on Gunece suffered injuries in the incident and had to be rushed to hospital.

The containership has since berthed at the Port of Perama while investigations are ongoing.
