China Navigation has ordered a 2,750TEU container feeder to be built by Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard (HWPS).

The new vessel will feature technologies for efficiency and emissions reduction including a DNV GL ECO-Insight vessel performance monitoring system to ensure efficient operation and monitoring, ECO hull design optimised for class-leading fuel efficiency, and ESD fittings to improve energy.

Breakbulk capacity will be integrated into the container ship design, and navigation systems will be networked, allowing for the remote monitoring of the vessel's navigation and machinery operations in real time in the future.

An enthalpy wheel heat recovery HVAC system will be fitted, and exhaust gas heat recovery from auxiliary engines will be possible.
