A newbuild chemical tanker was recently handed over to Rotterdam-based shipowner Chemship.

The 16,000DWT, 134- by 21-metre Chemical Fighter was built by Asakawa Shipbuilding in Japan for Chemship's service between the US East Coast and the Mediterranean.

The ship has departed Asakawa's facilities in Imabari and is currently sailing on its maiden voyage, which will include a stop in China.
