Port of Amsterdam to open shore charging facility for short sea vessels
Published on

The Port of Amsterdam will soon begin making shore power charging services available for short sea vessels following successful tests conducted earlier this month.

The initial tests were conducted using a large capacity battery provided by local manufacturer Skoon. The battery is capable of supplying 630 kWh of electricity, which equates to at least 12 hours of shore power.

The battery is designed to store electricity generated via wind energy or energy from biomass.
