Cyprus-registered Castor Maritime, through a separate wholly owned subsidiary, has entered into an agreement to purchase a 2006-built Capesize dry bulk vessel from an unaffiliated third party.
The vessel was built in Japan and has been acquired for a purchase price of US$17.5 million.
Delivery is expected by the beginning of the second quarter of 2021, after the completion of its scheduled dry docking and special survey that also includes the installation of a ballast water treatment system. The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of certain customary closing conditions.
