The US Coast Guard national security cutter (NSC) Midgett has successfully completed acceptance trials.

The eighth Legend-class NSC delivered by Huntington Ingalls Industries' (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division to the US Coast Guard, Midgett spent two full days in the Gulf of Mexico proving the ship's systems.

Ingalls Shipbuilding's test and trials team conducted extensive testing of the propulsion, electrical, damage control, anchor handling, small boat operations, and combat systems.

The team then finished the trials with a completed full-power propulsion run.

Midgett is scheduled to be delivered before the end of the year.
