Following a competitive tender process, the UK Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) has selected the partnership of naval architects BMT and shipbuilder Marine Specialised Technology (MST) for the supply of 18 high-speed patrol vessels in a series.

The vessels will each have a length of 15 metres and a propulsion system consisting of twin inboard diesel engines driving waterjets to deliver speeds of up to 30 knots. The bridge on each craft will have a fully integrated C4ISR and craft management system and shock-mitigating crew seats.

The new boats, which will also be capable of operating under extreme sea conditions, will replace the current MDP vessels deployed at various Royal Navy bases in the UK.
