The Los Angeles Port Police of California has placed an order for a new 65-foot (20-metre) aluminium catamaran patrol boat with a secondary dive support mission. Design work on the vessel will be undertaken by Teknicraft Design of New Zealand.

This vessel is engineered to operate in challenging conditions along the southern California coast, in both inland and nearshore waters. With the inclusion of Teknicraft's proprietary design, the vessel can maintain ride stability in exposed waters, with a cruising speed of 20 knots and a maximum speed of approximately 25 knots. This advanced design ensures optimal performance even in highly demanding marine environments.

The vessel’s key features include twin Cummins QSM11-715 engines with fixed-pitch propellers, providing a combined power output of 705 hp ( kW) at 2,500 rpm. The catamaran will also be equipped with a range of sophisticated systems and equipment including fire suppression systems, lifesaving equipment, and an A-frame.
