The Philippine National Police (PNP) formally welcomed 10 new boats into service on Wednesday, February 9.

The locally-built vessels have been given the official designation of High-Speed Tactical Watercraft. Each boat has three Honda 186kW outboard engines, a Raymarine radar, and weapons mounts for 12.7-millimetre and 7.62-millimetre machine guns.

The vessels will be used by the PNP's Maritime Group for coastal patrols and maritime law enforcement operations.
