Spanish builder Rodman Polyships has floated out a new offshore patrol vessel slated for the country's tax agency.

The GRP-hulled, 43-metre vessel will be used in customs surveillance and anti-smuggling duties.

The vessel will be powered by two 1,500kW four-stroke diesel engines that will it to sail up to 2,000 nautical miles. It will also be equipped with a stabilising system to reduce pitching and rolling while idle or when sailing and to ensure improved performance and more fuel-efficient operations in harsh conditions.

The vessel will have accommodations for 18 crewmembers in eight cabins.

Delivery is scheduled in the first quarter of 2021.
