The Indian Coast Guard recently took delivery of the lead ship of a new series of fast patrol vessels (FPV) being built by state-owned Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE).
ICGS Priyadarshini, the first of the Rajshree-class Flight II patrol vessels, will conduct maritime security, anti-smuggling, anti-poaching, and rescue missions in the Maritime Zones of India.
The FPV has a length of 50 metres, a width of 7.5 metres, a displacement of 308 tonnes, a crew of 35, and three main engines delivering a maximum speed of 34 knots.
Four other Rajshree-class Flight II FPVs are in various stages of construction at GRSE's Kolkata shipyard.
