Fast patrol boat delivered to Spanish Tax Agency

The Spanish Tax Agency took delivery of a new locally-built fast patrol boat on Friday, May 3.

The vessel is the first in a series of eight ordered by the tax agency. This particular boat will be based in Algeciras on Spain's Bay of Gibraltar coast.

The vessel is designed for patrolling in territorial seas and contiguous zones. Missions will include suppression of illegal trafficking, interception, inspection, physical presence, surveillance, and enforcement of national and international laws.

The boat has an FRP hull, an LOA of 17 metres, a beam of 3.98 metres, a depth of 2.1 metres, and space for six crewmembers. Two MAN D2862 LE 436 1,324kW engines driving waterjets will deliver a speed of 55 knots at 80 per cent MCR and a range of 460 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 19 knots.

The boat's fuel oil and freshwater capacities are 3,300 litres and 110 litres, respectively.
