Cochin Shipyard to build nine vessels for Indian Border Security Force

Cochin Shipyard (CSL) has won an Indian Ministry of Home Affairs tender to supply nine floating border outposts (FBOPs) to the Border Security Force (BSF).

Each FBOP will have a length of 46 metres, a width of 12 metres, a draught of 1.2 metres, a crew of 38, and the ability to launch and recover four fast patrol boats.

The first three FBOPs are scheduled to be delivered within 18 months of the awarding of the tender while the remaining six will subsequently be delivered in batches of three every nine months.
