Turkey's ARES Shipyard is currently in negotiations with two potential customers regarding export sales of the company's ULAQ series of armed unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) in Europe.
ARES' Deputy General Manager Oguzhan Pehlivanli did not disclose which European countries have expressed interest in the USV. However, he said that the final negotiations are nearing completion and agreements will be announced in early 2022.
As with the prototype already in use by the Turkish Navy, the export variants of the ULAQ USV will also be used for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, escort missions, and force protection.
