Russian submarine Krasnoyarsk floated out

United Shipbuilding Corporation's (USC) Sevmash Shipbuilding floated out a new Russian Navy Project 885M nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine on Friday, July 30.

Named after a city in Central Siberia, the future Krasnoyarsk was designed by the Malakhit Marine Engineering Bureau. It will be capable of carrying up to 40 cruise missiles in addition to torpedoes.

The submarine will soon begin undergoing builder's sea trials to be followed by acceptance trials by the navy.
