Russian shipyard Sevmash has been selected to build two additional Project 955A or Borei-A class nuclear-powered, ballistic missile submarines for the country's navy.

Like their sisters, Dmitriy Donskoy and Knyaz Potemkin ("Prince Potemkin") will each be armed with up to 16 ballistic missiles as well as torpedoes and anti-ship/anti-submarine missiles.

Construction of the new submarines is expected to commence within this year.
