Huntington Ingalls Industries' (HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division held a keel-laying ceremony on Monday, March 25, for the US Navy's future nuclear-powered attack submarine New Jersey.
The 23rd submarine of the Virginia-class is also the first submarine and the third US Navy ship overall to be named after the state of New Jersey.
Delivery of the submarine is scheduled for 2021.
