General Dynamics Electric Boat christened the future USS Vermont, a Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, on October 20.

The submarine is the nineteenth ship of the Virginia-class.

Vermont has a length of 115 metres, a hull diameter of 10.4 metres, a displacement of 7,800 tonnes, and a crew of 130 officers and enlisted sailors.
