DSME to build first Chang Bogo III-class sub for South Korea

Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has been awarded a ₩1.1 trillion (US$940 million) contract to build the first Chang Bogo III-class submarine for the South Korean Navy.

The yet unnamed submarine will have a displacement of 3,000 tonnes and will be capable of longer underwater operations compared to earlier vessels in the Chang Bogo-class.

Delivery is scheduled for 2026.
