United Shipbuilding Corporation's (USC) Sevmash Shipbuilding has completed construction on the Russian Navy nuclear-powered submarine Knyaz Vladimir.

The 170- by 13-metre ballistic missile submarine is the first to be completed under Project 955A, also known as the Borei-A class. Compared to standard Project 955/Borei-class submarines, Knyaz Vladimir features more advanced communication and detection systems, a reduced acoustic signature, and control surfaces that ensure greater underwater manoeuvrability.

The submarine will be delivered to the Russian Navy's Northern Fleet before the end of June.
