UK manufacturer the Marine Specialised Technology Group (MST Group) has been selected for the construction of new fast raiding boats for the German Navy.

Eight examples of the rigid inflatable boat (RIB) series will be deployed aboard the German Navy's new F126 frigates.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2025.

Each raiding boat will have an LOA of 12 metres and a beam of 3.3 metres. Launch and recovery can be done through either a stern ramp or a davit, though the RIBs can also be transported via helicopter or cargo aircraft.

Shock-mitigating seats will be available for the crew and the other occupants while forward and aft weapon mounts can be fitted with 12.7mm or 7.62mm machine guns.

The MST Group will incorporate a number of commercial off the shelf components into the RIBs for ease of maintenance, thus minimising downtime.
