Indian state-owned shipyard Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL) floated out two future Indian Navy warships on Tuesday, May 17.

Launched into the water for the first time at MDL's Mumbai facilities were the future Visakhapatnam-class guided missile destroyer INS Surat and the Nilgiri-class stealth frigate INS Udaygiri. Both ships were designed by the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design.

The vessels will be deployed for anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and anti-submarine warfare missions.
