Thailand's state-owned shipbuilder Bangkok Dock launched a new offshore patrol vessel (OPV) being built for the Royal Thai Navy on Friday, August 2.

The future HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan is the second vessel of the Krabi-class OPVs, which are based on the River-class ships built by BAE Systems for the UK Royal Navy.

Once completed, the future Prachuap Khiri Khan will have an LOA of 90.5 metres, a beam of 13.5 metres, and a design speed of 25 knots courtesy of two 14.7MW diesel engines. Armament will consist of a 76-millimetre naval gun, two 30-millimetre autocannons, and two machine guns.
