Malaysian investment company T7 Global, through subsidiary T7 Marine, has established a partnership with Japan's Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding with the aim of exploring possible newbuilding contracts with the Vietnamese government, particularly in the defence and security sectors.

T7 Global executive deputy chairman Tan Sri Tan Kean Soon said that this second formal collaboration between T7 and Mitsui was formed after the two companies identified a growing demand for new naval and coast guard patrol vessels in Vietnam.

The memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the two companies has a firm duration of three years from contract signing.
