ST Engineering launched on Saturday, January 26, the final one of eight Independence-class littoral mission vessels (LMVs) that the company has designed and built for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

Named Fearless, the ship and its sisters will replace a class of patrol vessels that have been in service with the RSN since the 1990s and which were also designed and built by ST Engineering.

The new LMV has a length of 80 metres, a width of 12 metres, and a displacement of 1,200 tonnes. It will be propelled by four MTU 20V4000M93L 4,300kW CODAD engines up to a maximum speed of 27 knots.
