Spanish yard launches final one of five corvettes for Saudi Arabia

Spanish shipbuilder Navantia launched a new corvette into the water at its Cadiz facilities on Saturday, December 4.

The future Unayzah, named after a city in northern Saudi Arabia, is the final one of five Al-Jubail-class corvettes that Navantia is building for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.

Upon completion, the ship will measure 104 by 14 metres and will have space for 102 crew and other personnel. Delivery is scheduled for August 2023 while commissioning will take early in the following year.
